This is Ed from EdVenture! He is really quite cool! You can go inside of him on the back side and go from top to bottom to see how the body works. Starting in the brain to the eyes, ears and mouth then it takes you to the heart, lungs and digestive system, When you are done you go down a slide which acts as part of the digestive system and makes a farting noise when you go through it.

Sage was a bit scared to sit on this for some reason!

This is for the Herr family! This is the cat that you guys bought Taylie a few years back. It has become Princess' enemy! She attacks and beats it up. She even smells it like it is another real cat. hahaha!

Our trips to the ER!

On Christmas Eve we went out to dinner and as we were pulling into the parking lot Taylie said "Did you hear that?" None of us couldn't figure out what she was talking about but would soon find out that it was her ear popping. We got seated and had just ordered our dinner when she begin to cry about her ear. After a very akward dinner we decided that we would take her to an InstaCare however none were open so we ended up going to the ER. Turns out she had a pretty bad ear infection as well as a virus. We were really glad that we had taken her cause Christmas wouldn't have been as fun with having to deal with the pain she was in.

Well within a few days we ended up going to the InstaCare with Sage. He had the same virus but no ear infection! Two days later we went to take him back to the InstaCare but ended up in the ER (due to the InstaCare claiming that we would have to pay a $150 deductable even though we knew we shouldn't have to) with him as well. He ended up with a really bad case of pink eye in both eyes and couldn't even open them.

This made for a very interesting Christmas and New Years. Although all four of us ended up really sick there was good new...Taylie didn't have to miss school and Aaron work! Not really how we wanted to spend our Christmas break though!

Taylie's school had a place to buy presents for the family! I sent her with $5 to buy a gift for Sage. She was so excited to give him what she got! I had to laugh though cause she ended up spending $4 on herself and $1 on him...it's the thought that counts right!

Our New Kitty!

Taylie has been wanting a kitty since we lived in Layton! We ended up promising her one when we moved to where ever Aaron was assigned! She had only been in South Carolina 10 days when we found Princes!

We decided the Friday following Thanksgiving to see if we could find an adoption center located in Columbia that had a picture of an orange kitty, which is what Taylie said she wanted! When we arrived we found out that this orange kitty named Butter was still to small to adopt. They were willing to put our name on a waiting list and call us once it was big enough if we were interested. We decided that is what we would do but to make our hour long drive worth it we went in to see the cats that were available for adoption. When we went in this kitten named Stuffing immediately cuddled up with Taylie and allowed her to sit and hold her. When Taylie got up to see another kitten Stuffing followed Taylie. After holding and playing with her Taylie decided that she wanted this kitty!

Stuffing and another kitten were found at only a few weeks old without a mother and nursed back to health until they were ready to adopt!

Long story short we ended up with "Stuffing." Taylie renamed the cat "Princess!" despite mine and Aaron's attempts to suggest other names!

On the way home we bought the cat a pink bed, toys, bowl , kitty litter box and scoop!

She has been the best cat! She loves being held and purrs even if you are just talking to her! Every once in awhile we remind the kids to let her go and be a kitten cause despite loving attention she is a kitten and is FULL of fiesty energy!

Thanksgiving Dinner 2008!

My first time cooking turkey! Nothing formal but it was a Thanksgiving dinner and a yummy one at that if I do say so myself! We ended up having more than enough so we invited a young single guy that Aaron went to training with over! After cooking everything myself it put being grateful into persective!

Cutting the turkey was Aaron's contribution!

The leaves were so beautiful during our drive here!

After sitting in near 0 miles per hour for over 3 hours there was a rainbow! I guess the pot of gold was being able to get out of traffic!

I had put a sheet on the couch at the hotel, so he didn't have to lay directly on it and he managed to find the one spot where his skin could touch, he had turned himself around during the night so his head was no longer on the pillow and he was on top of his blanket!

Ok! So I said I was going to be better, but I have been so bad the last couple weeks! I am going to get Sage's first day of school pictures, Adam and Bonnie's wedding pics and a few other up when I finally get around to loading them to the computer! The process of moving has created a situation where I don't have my computer, my camera cord, etc so it makes things a little more difficult when I'm having to borrow from everyone else just to do something that otherwise seems like such a simple task. I promise to get to it soon though!

Anyway, I only have 10 more days until Aaron is home to Utah...for a bit! I am getting so anxious! I feel like I am radiating because of the amount of excitement! For anyone who would like to come to the Airport you are more than welcome. I have booked his flight and as of right now he is landing at 11:05 am at the SLC Airport on Oct 25th. I am sure he would love to see as many familiar faces as possible!

Anyway, thank you all for all of your love and support throughout this time! It is great to have great family and friends around when life can be so lonely and sometimes challenging without a spouse to lean on all the time!

Bored at Sheppard AFB!

Emily and I are sitting here at the Sheppard AFB library being bored. This is her last night here with me. The good news is though, that I only have four weeks left. Four long weeks. We just ate at Texas Road house. It was really good. Great service and our waitress had a country accent. I think it's funny.

Ouch!

Adam was in the bike portion of his triathlon this last Saturday and ended up hitting a pot hole, which lead to him going over the handle bars of his bike! He ended up with a broken collar bone, some major road rash on his right hip, arm and shoulder and a cut on his forehead! And his bike ended up a good 50 ft down the road! The road rash is healing well! Hopefully his collar bone will be healed in time for the wedding in 3 1/2 weeks!

Family Update!

A quick update on what we have all been up to!

Aaron has joined the Air Force and currently is attending tech. school at Sheppard AFB in Wichita Falls, TX.

After he has completed his training we are moving to Shaw AFB in Sumter, South Carolina which is a 50 min drive east of Columbia and a 2 hours 20 min drive west of Myrtle Beach!

Although Aaron hasn't been sold on the idea of living away from the mountains and in the heat and humidity that South Carolina has to offer I am looking forward to and so excited for this opportunity! I am sure once we get there and Aaron has the opportunity to golf he too will be excited!

As for Taylie and Sage, they seem excited to move "close to the beach!" However, are unaware of how long a 2 hour 20 min drive really is. Although after driving to Texas from Utah on 2 separate occasions so far to visit daddy has seemed to make a 2 hours trip in the car seem so simple! I am sure that they also have yet to grasp that we are going to be living so far away from family and friends.

As for our trips to Texas...so far!

I flew down to Lackland AFB in San Antonio, TX in May to see Aaron graduate from BMT and become an Airman! What an amazing opportunity to see the process of the graduation! Aaron was just excited that, that portion of his training was over! During Aaron's base leave we were able to go to The River Walk and The Alamo, two things I probably never would have gone to see otherwise and am glad to say now that I've checked off of the list of things to do...even though they were never really on my list of desired destinations to begin with.

Two weeks and 4 days later the kids and I drove down to Sheppard AFB to stay with Aaron for 6 days. Of which we celebrated Taylie's birthday on June 12th, Father's Day on June 15th and Sage's Birthday on June 16th!

Our next visit would come 5 weeks and 4 days later! We came home just this past Tues. after spending 18 days in heat that I never imagined possible! Put the heat aside and I had an awesome opportunity to spend time with my husband and the kids their father!
